Olympic Photography

Being as I don’t have a super reliable source for the olympics (see my olympic fun article for details), I’ve been using a lot of the New York Times’ articles for my Olympic news. Not only have I been super impressed with their live coverage — that’s right… a newspaper company offering live coverage of virtually all big events — but I’ve also been impressed with the photography included on their website. As much as I love video, I must say that viewing the olympics this year as mainly still frame images was very… enlightening. Still frames were able to capture things that video did not, and the photos were able to give me an incredible “man… I’m at the olympics” feeling, something that I’ve never quite gotten with video. Take a look for yourself. A good starting point is the best moments from the olympics at the NYtimes. A few of my personal favorites came from the daily overviews, but I must say that this gallery has a few incredible shots.
The photography I’ve seen on the NYtimes website has really motivated me to put more effort into taking pictures. We’ll see if it anyone can see the difference in my photo galleries.
Enjoy the photography!

Hey Spencer — thanks for the comments on my blog (you always make my day). I think you need to update yours because I’ve been without news for too long now! Hope you and Nicole are still having a fabulous time in Argentina!
